What is TCA peel?

TCA is a non-toxic chemical (trichloracetic acid), which has been used to perform skin peels for over 20 years. It is a relative of vinegar (acetic acid.) When TCA is applied to the skin, it causes the top layers of cells to dry up and peel off over a period of 5 days to 7 days.

TCA peel used to correct fine lines, superficial scars, minimal laxity and pigmentation problems. It is very beneficial to persons of all skin types. It helps reduce wrinkles and large pores.

Candidate for TCA peel

You are a candidate if you have slight wrinkles, hyper pigmentations, unevenness, acne, acne scars, black heads or sun damaged skin.

IMPORTANT CONTRAINDICATIONS
Accutance used in the past 12 months.
Warts, history of Keloidal scarring.
Recent facial surgical procedures
pregnant or lactating
Any auto immune diseases
Any recent radioactive or Chemotherapy treatments
Have had – have sunburn, windburn or broken skin
Have recently waxed or recently used a depilatory such as Nair or use Vaniqua cream.

Preparing for Your Chemical Peel

Follow skin care regimen which are recommended by your technician.
Using SPF to protect your skin before and after the peel. A minimum of 30 is required.

Helping the skin to heal

After your peel it will be important to moisturize your skin with a quality, healing ointment. There really should not be any severe peeling or redness, but with additional layers or higher percentages, ointments should be applied around the clock to keep the skin moist.
